Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage & family therapy, or elated and applicable degree.
  • One or more years' experience providing individual/group therapy and/or EAP (Employee Assistance Program) counseling.
  • Must possess active status with state licensure or certification (LMSW, LPC, LLP, etc.)
  • This position requires CAADC certification by Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals MCBAP or a registered development plan after hire. The certification process involves completing a development plan with MCBAP and completing an exam. Individuals have 2 years to complete this process. Visit mcbap.com for more information.
  • Experience working with persons served with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
  • Experience working with families/adults with substance use disorders or related field
  • Knowledge and understanding of Recovery Oriented System of Care and Trauma Informed Services
  • Experience delivering co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders services utilizing a team based approach to provide intensive, highly coordinated and flexible support including home visits. Care coordination across multiple systems, etc. is preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a case load and provides case management, treatment and community outreach services.
  • Responsible for the identification of treatment referrals/resources within the community appropriate to meeting the needs of the individuals served.
  • Conducts screenings and comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health issues.
  • Implements and monitors treatment plans that are developed with a Person-centered/Family-centered philosophy.
  • Apply evidenced based practices including the use of motivational interviewing and other strategies to encourage full participation from those receiving services.
  • Conduct utilization review with network providers
  • Establish and maintain liaison relationships with appropriate agencies regarding intervention and clinical services.
  • Ability to adjust hours of work based on the community needs, including some evening and weekends.
